Win-Win Construction Projects

e-Booklet for win win construction projectsContrary to popular opinion, construction projects can start and end on a great note, with mutual respect, trust, camaraderie and fairness.

Construction as a whole does not have a very good reputation.  Property owners and contractors alike often have a poor experience with projects.  Many projects end up in some form of legal action.  Complaints regarding construction regularly rank in the top two or three in this country for consumer complaints.  Almost as frequently as property owners feel burned and have horror stories associated with projects, contractors and those associated with the construction industry have their own complaints about customers.

Construction projects do not have to go this way!  My Win Win Construction Projects booklet covers many of the roots of conflict on both “sides” and offers tested guidelines that can greatly help you have a positive and mutually successful experience with any given project.

The relationships involved are enormously important, yet frequently given too little attention.  Factors such as trust, comfort level together, clarity, assumptions and intentions play a huge role in building successful working relationships.

In this booklet, I explore these factors and more in some detail, along with stories from my own construction and mediation experience.  The basis that has become my advice has worked for me and led to some wonderful projects with some wonderful people.  A number of my customers over the years became friends.  I feel fortunate to have had them in my life.

This booklet has been written for anyone associated with a construction project or contemplating one, or in the middle of one.  It is for property owners, contractors, subcontractors, architects, designers, real estate agents, developers, and more.  The material covered within applies to both new construction, remodeling and repair projects.

We hear so many horror stories around projects.  In this booklet, I also explore construction as part of a process of transformation and renewal, both for a structure and for the people involved.  This is an aspect  I have never seen addressed.

Here is to happy, successful construction!
